What to prepare before a website redesign

Start with what needs to change

Decide what the new experience should help people do. That might mean understanding your services, finding the right product or starting a conversation. Choose a clear priority before discussing layouts.

Know what you already have

Collect your current pages, brand assets and useful project examples. Mark what should stay, what needs rewriting and what can be removed. This brings the scope into focus.

Explain what you like

Share a few references and explain the details that matter: typography, navigation, spacing or how the projects are presented. Specific notes are more useful than a link on its own.

Bring the right information together

List the content, tools and decisions the project depends on. Include who will maintain it and who needs to review it. A shared brief makes the next conversation more productive.
